Haiku 52: Catching-up Again

The rich jewel-toned night
Fades to pastel daytime hues –
I sink into dreams

New pens and pencils
Organized in a backpack –
Time never returns

An iron gray sky
Thunder rumbles from afar –
Thankful for shelter

Time passes slowly,
Glancing at the clock – wishing –
Darkness underground
