It didn’t take much thinking for me to decide on what I wanted to capture for my “Something Fun” photo. As those who know me might attest, I enjoy role-playing games, and it is from that love of role-playing games that has sprouted my fascination with big-box-of-plastic board games. While I enjoy Mansions of Madness, there is one big plastic game that I feel sits above the others: Flying Frog’s Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game.
Since I haven’t played in a while, and a couple of friends have expressed interest in playing LNoE, I figured I should pull it out and refresh myself on the rules. I would have asked Sarah to play with me, but she has a very limited tolerance for board games. I’m okay with that, though. Not everyone loves everything, but dispite her general dislike of games like this, she seems to enjoy LNoE a bit more than any other big plastic game we have played. Reason: it doesn’t usually take forever to play.
I do agree that any game taking more than 3 hours is pushing the envelope a bit. Games like Arkham Horror can put even the most stalwart gamers to the test. LNoE is a nice balance of complexity and simplicity, and it is fun for both the zombies and the humans. One day, I will have to get around to writing a review for it.
