30 Day Drawing Challenge, Day 20: Something Orange

Yes, I was tempted to do an orange. Then, I was tempted to draw carrot soup, sweet potatoes, or women with the New Jersey look (alternately, George Hamilton). Instead, I went for what this myriad of concepts make me think about:

The Oompa Loompa. One of my favorite films as a youth was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The strangeness of it all appealed to me; what isn’t there to love about bratty kids getting their comeuppances in a weird, psychedelic chocolate factory? It has charm and emotion, especially thanks to Gene Wilder.

Now, the Tim Burton version is a different story…
